However those that keep half an eye on the news will know that throughout 2008 many retailers will be bracing themselves for a downturn in figures and so it is expected that the sales will continue and bargains will be available for much of the year in an attempt to avoid an economic slowdown.

So when you are looking to transfer your balance to a better credit card do be sure to look out for cards that offer not only 0% on balance transfers, but also 0% on purchases.

There are many cards out there that can offer both of these. Not only can you relax knowing your balance is not attracting any interest, but you can also make purchases on the same card knowing they will not be charged any interest - it will do the job of two cards.

This is an important aspect to consider as the more cards you apply for in a short space of time the worse this looks for your credit rating. So if you can combine these two great attractions on to one card then go for it!
